Complete An Adoption Application
Once we receive your application, an APR team member will reach out within 5 days to qualified applicants to schedule a personalized meet and greet with the pets that best suit your home. You must be 21 years old to adopt. APR takes multiple applications to best match pets and families.
Meet & Greet
At the meet and greet, our adoption counselor will spend time with you and your family discussing your pet preferences and introduce you to the pet you applied for plus any others who could be a great fit. If you have another dog in the home, APR’s trained staff will help introduce the dogs to ensure they are compatible as well as offer tips on helping new pets settle into their new home.
Adoption Day
Once your adoption application is approved, we will coordinate with you to choose the perfect day to bring your new best friend home. This moment marks the start of a wonderful journey filled with love and companionship. We’re here to support you as you prepare to welcome your new furry family member.

Adoption counselors are available to assist with questions and concerns when your new pet goes home. If for any reason the adoption is not the right match, the pet is required to be returned to APR. Please provide advance notice so we can assist or make shelter arrangements.

What’s Included?
Each animal is examined by the shelter veterinarian, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, tested and treated for common illnesses and given flea and heartworm preventatives.
