This Caturday, we’d like to introduce Huggy Wuggy This Caturday, we’d like to introduce Huggy Wuggy and Kissy Missy, who came to us after being left on our doorstep. ❤️‍🩹 Every year, on the last Saturday of June, we observe World Day Against the Abandonment of Domestic Animals. ❣️

Despite that rough start, they have shown nothing but love ever since. True to his name, Huggy is known for giving loving hugs, and true to her name, Kissy is known for giving the sweetest little “kisses.” 😻💕💋

Animal shelters are at capacity and resources are stretched thin because so many pets are surrendered or abandoned. Choosing adoption helps save lives by making space for the next animal in need. 🏡💗

Every year, on the last Saturday of June, we obser Every year, on the last Saturday of June, we observe World Day Against the Abandonment of Domestic Animals. Abandoned Pet Rescue (APR) is one of the largest no-kill animal shelters in South Florida. Since our founding in 1996, we have provided comprehensive care and helped more than 10,000 pets find loving homes. 💗🏡🐾

On average, APR rescues 350 pets annually and facilitates about 330 adoptions plus 20 medical adoptions. To help keep pets with their families, APR often provides assistance with pet food and supplies. Every adopted pet receives a registered microchip to ensure the pet can be reunited to its family if lost. When families can no longer keep their pet because of life hardships, they find comfort in APR’s no-kill policy and commitment to find their pet a new responsible home. ❤️‍🩹🦴

Pet abandonment contributes to the overpopulation of stray animals and significantly strains animal shelters. One of the most impactful ways to reduce pet abandonment is to adopt responsibly, not shop, and spay/neuter. 🐶🐱
