Helping Pets and People

Arc Broward
The Arc Educates Animal Care Certificate Program helps adults with disabilities acquire job skills in animal-related fields. Since 2022, there have been nine graduating classes, with two graduates who became valued APR employees.
Keeping Pets and Families Together
APR provides financially struggling families with pet food, supplies and veterinary assistance. Every adopted pet also receives a registered microchip to ensure they can be safely returned if lost.

Providing Peace of Mind
When families can no longer keep their pets because of life hardships, they find comfort in APR’s no-kill policy and commitment to find their pet a new responsible home.
Creating Community
From Youths to Seniors
APR has 500 active volunteers that help our shelter animals,
contributing more than 9,000 hours in 2025.
Creating a welcoming, inclusive environment for everyone ignites friendships
and builds community for all involved with APR.
