Duke

Duke is a 3 years old hound with the heart of a guardian and the soul of a survivor. He was found in the Everglades bravely protecting two small dogs—his unlikely little pack. There’s no doubt Duke kept them safe in such a dangerous environment, and now this loyal boy deserves someone to protect and love him.

When Duke first arrived at the shelter, he was scared and unsure, but each day he opens up a little more and adores his human friends. He greets us with tail wags and even hugs! He ignores most other dogs so would be happy to be the only pet in a home. He lives for tennis balls and stuffed toys!

Duke is quiet, house-trained, and full of potential. He’s looking for a patient, loving home where he can finally feel safe and cherished. He is vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. Duke is currently being treated for Heartworm, but Abandoned Pet Rescue will continue to provide this medical care until fully treated.
