In this time of uncertainty, the Abandoned Pet Rescue family continues to care for our charges at the shelter. While there is limited access to the shelter, by appointment only, there are dogs and cats still waiting for homes. So, if you are interested in adoption please call us at 954-728-9010 or e-mail us at APR954@att.net between 12 Noon and 5PM and we will contact you to arrange a visit.
The month of March brought great news as several of our big dogs found new fur-ever homes and our cat adoptions increased by 50%.
We know things are tight for many people but thanks to the newly approved federal stimulus package you can now donate $300 to a 501©3 charity this year when you take the standard deduction on your income taxes. Consider making a donation to APR while it is tax deductible.

APR is still holding its “Raise The Roof” campaign to raise money for necessary infrastructure repairs including our roof, a/c, doors, windows and other interior fortifications. Have you seen our “Dance Off” video? Take a look at it here:

We faced a shortage of dry dog food last week and as always, our supporters are coming to the rescue.

Our biggest need is always canned cat food and we never have enough cleaning supplies (soap, paper towels, garbage bags (unscented) white vinegar – not cleaning vinegar but just gallon jugs of white vinegar, which can be found at grocery stores.). If you are so inclined your donation is appreciated. Just visit stores like Petsmart Pet Supermarket, and Ruff House, come to the shelter between 8am and 5pm any day, knock on the front door three times and leave. We will bring your donations inside. And if you can’t drop off remember you can always order from sources like chewy.com and https://smile.amazon.com/hz/charitylist/ls/291IAJEFWNNAT/ref=smi_ext_lnk_lcl_cl That’s our wish list page with all the items we use on a regular basis.

If you want to learn a good lesson, take the time to read this month’s Allie Katz Pawgress Report. Allie focuses on COVID-19 and our pets. You won’t want to miss it.
