We are proud of our team and grateful for all of our supporters who helped Abandoned Pet Rescue continue to save many lives in the midst of a pandemic. In 2020, APR matched 400 rescued pets to forever homes as well as rescued 56% more cats and dogs than last year. Other highlights include:
* APR’s Board of Directors kept our small team of staff employed while some employees generously decreased their hours.
* APR volunteers rallied to assist with virtual fundraisers and creative ways to promote adoptions including growing our social media to 86,000 followers.
* The Edward and Gale McBride Foundation and many big-hearted individuals helped APR reach a $100,000 goal for the Raise the Roof Capital Campaign to install a new air condition system this year followed by major roof repairs in 2021.
* Thank you to everyone for the donations of pet food and cleaning supplies that have steadily been delivered to the shelter.
* APR provided food for pet owners who are financially struggling during Covid.
* An additional veterinarian was hired to provide medical care for shelter pets including more spay and neuter procedures to reduce overpopulation.
2020 is a year that has brought us new friends and new families for rescued pets. We wish you a happy, healthy new year and thanks to your continued support, we look forward to more growth in 2021!
