Thank you for wanting to save lives by volunteering with

Abandoned Pet Rescue

Volunteer Application

This form is for adults (18+) interested in volunteering at APR events and the shelter.

Please note: Volunteers under 21 are not permitted to volunteer with dogs in any capacity. This includes walking, grooming, event assistance, and dog transport/handling.

Youth Application (Ages 14-17)

Note: The minimum age to volunteer is 14.

Volunteers under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, and, in order for your application to be considered, one of the following forms must be submitted:

Youth Supervision Compliance Form – This form is for parents/legal guardians who intend to accompany their youth for supervision purposes only.

Volunteer Application for Adults – This form is for parents/legal guardians accompanying a youth who also wish to volunteer.

Foster Application

Abandoned Pet Rescue’s Medical Adoption is a permanent or temporary home for a cat or dog with medical or behavioral special needs.

Thank you for helping a pet that needs extra love!

If you are applying to volunteer with dogs (e.g., dog walking, handling at events, grooming, etc.), you must complete the Dog Walking Training and Orientation.

Once your application is received, you will receive an email with a link to register for the next available session.

Dog Walking Training and Orientation sessions are held on the last Sunday of every month at 2:00 PM.

If you are applying to volunteer with cats, you must complete the Cat Care Orientation.

Once your application is received, you will receive an email with a link to register for the next available session.

Cat Care Orientation sessions are held on the second Sunday of every month at 2:00 PM.
