As we continue to celebrate our 25th anniversary it’s been a year of challenge and choice but one that has brought new light to Abandoned Pet Rescue.
228 dogs and cats have already been adopted this year with another month to go. We have had some very special adoption stories to share including:
Evie – 12 year old cat adopted by Guy & Carol after a tiktok video about Evie went viral.
Lilia & Mara – Lilia is epileptic and Mara has brain damage. Both cats adopted by Nick
Victoria – 12 year old cat adopted by Anne & Irv. She waited in a crowded room of kittens until she found her wonderful home.
Rachel & Beryl – two 17 year old cats adopted by Makenzie.
Brie – blind dog came back to APR after her owner passed. Adopted by Tim.
Dickens – 10 year old dog came to APR in horrific condition. He was fostered, nursed back to health and adopted by Kim.
Milly – 16 year old chihuahua found in a field with her friend Milfred who passed away but Milly found a loving home with Brandon and Heather.
Melvin – 12 years old and adopted by Aileen & Jillian who had previously adopted Nana, a senior dog with cancer and loved her until she passed away.
Curly – 13 years old tied to the shelter door at night and was recently adopted by Diana.
It was also a very sad year as we lost one of our most dedicated volunteers, Don Anderson.
If you want to volunteer just visit our website, www.abandonedpetrescue.org , and fill out an application.
Starting in January we will begin monthly training classes for those who want to walk dogs, handle acts, and bring animals to our events.
There’s still time to donate in 2021. Help us reach our $10,000 match or help us buy these critically needed cat condos or help us pay the bill for new shelter infrastructure projects. There are three links where you can help or can you always visit our web site at abandonedpetrescue.org/make-a-donation or mail us a check made out to Abandoned Pet Rescue, 1137 NE 9th Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, FL, 33304.
And finally, don’t miss the 12 TAILS OF CHRISTMAS which begins on Christmas Day. Find the link on our web site, and Facebook and Instagram pages beginning December 25th.
We wish you all a happy and healthy holiday season and we will see you next January 1st, 2022.
