In the words of Dr. Suess, “Things are never quite as scary when you’ve got a best friend.” It seems that has been the very experience of two happy-go-lucky pups, Loki and Shug. These two best friends experienced tremendous change when their owner became unable to care for them any longer. Since their arrival at Abandoned Pet Rescue, Ms. Shug and Mr. Loki have adjusted exceptionally well. Seeing them adapt so well to gnarly circumstances suggests that they will absolutely thrive once placed in their forever home.
You may have noticed that the word home in the previous sentence is singular, not plural. Folks, this is not a typo – because the adorable duo is unmistakably bonded, the shelter staff is looking for a home that can accommodate both of their playful personalities. If entertaining two lively pups sounds like a handful, just note that they keep each other very entertained. At the ripened age of one year, Loki and Shug are still puppies at heart. It appears that their favorite place to be is together, and boisterous playtime never gets old.
Indeed, the personalities of Shug and Loki are more striking than their size. At approximately 30 pounds each, the sunny siblings are fully-grown mixed terriers. Despite being rather small in stature, neither appears to have any fear or hesitation when it comes to meeting new people. After living among other dogs in their previous home, the pair seems to be quite socialized.
Before strutting out of the shelter and into home life, Loki is working through a slightly hairy situation. Before arriving at the shelter, he was suffering from a treatable skin infection. We are happy to report that after some well-deserved spa sessions, Loki’s skin and fur are making a comeback! Within the next couple of weeks, the condition is expected to fully clear up.
We have shared a video of Loki and Shug making the most of their weekend. If you find that there is room in both your heart and your home to accommodate this doggie duo, please visit Abandoned Pet Rescue and meet them. Although they have each other, they still need you!
