Search Abandoned Pet Rescue’s adoptable cats and dogs to begin one of the most rewarding journeys of giving a homeless pet a forever home.
Please complete an adoption application on the website abandonedpetrescue.org for the pet you are interested in meeting or adopting. An APR team member will contact you to schedule an appointment to visit the adoption center to meet the pet as well as see other pets that may be a good match.
Please note that APR does not do same day adoptions and takes multiple applications on each pet in an effort to best match pets and families. You must be 21 years old to adopt and provide a valid drivers license or a legal form of identification.
An adoption counselor will help match you to a pet that is a good fit for your home, family and lifestyle. This is a great opportunity to ask questions and spend time with the animal or animals you are interested in adopting.
If you have other animals living in your home, a meet and greet may be arranged to determine whether the animals will get along. APR does reserve the right to do home checks.
Once your adoption application has been approved, a date will be scheduled for you to take home your new pet.
Included in the adoption fee, each animal is examined by the shelter veterinarian and spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, tested and treated for common illnesses and given flea/tick preventatives. Animals with on-going medical conditions will be provided with medication and a checkup visit if needed.
For APR’s pets with special needs and senior pets with health issues, APR has a Medical Adoption Program that helps place these pets in loving homes by waiving the adoption fee and continuing to cover the pets medical care at the shelter.
Adoption Fees
Kittens $75 Puppies $175
Cats over one year $60 Dogs over a year old $150
Two kittens or cats $100 Two puppies or dogs $250
A 10% discount is offered to veterans, service members and first-responders.
After the adoption, APR may contact you to see how the adoption is going. APR is available to answer any questions you may have.
Please join our Facebook Alumni page @Abandoned Pet Rescue Alumni to share pictures and updates of your new pet.
If for any reason your newly adopted pet is not the best match for you, we require that the animal be returned to APR. We ask that you give advance notice as APR may be able to assist you with keeping the pet or will need to make arrangements within the shelter.
