We are thrilled to reveal to you that APR completed its 10,000th adoption since our founding in 1996 on December 30th!
Meet Tyson who has been waiting at our shelter for 400 days for his chance for a forever home! Brittany and Gustavo saw Tyson on our social media and meeting him in person was love at first slobbery kiss. 🤣 They had adopted from Abandoned Pet Rescue many years ago and thought of us again when their dog passed away.
This 6-year-old American Bulldog spent most of his life in an outside kennel until his owners moved and dumped him on the street when they couldn’t find any place to take him. Good Samaritans found him walking the streets with a chain around his neck and brought him to APR. Tyson has been a big sweetheart while in our care. He lets us dress him up in a raincoat on rainy days, he takes his stuffed animals on walks and has made many friends with dogs and people including Santa at our most recent Pups & Pints event at Gulf Stream Brewery. Santa granted Tyson his one wish! We can’t wait to see Tyson living his best life.
TYSON'S STORY
Tyson is one of the 39 cats and dogs who went home this month from Abandoned Pet Rescue and one of the 330 pets who found their forever homes in 2023. In addition 20 animals were placed as medical pet adoptions with special needs during the year.🎉
Rescue isn’t easy, but moments like this remind us why we do it ❤️ Congratulations Tyson as we look forward to saving more lives together in 2024!
And, congratulations to Valerie Gunning, the winner of our 10,000th adoption contest. She picked the correct date of the adoption which was December 30th and then was selected in a random drawing of all of those who picked that date.
Valerie is the winner of DINNER for 8 cooked and served in her home by the APR team on a night of her choice during the first six months of 2024
