Sparkles is a 1-year-old American Stafford Terrier mix who came to Abandoned Pet Rescue limping and scarred from being hit by a car. After x-rays and evaluation by a veterinarian and an orthopedic surgeon, it was determined that Sparkles has a carpal fracture and dislocation of her front leg requiring surgery, a customized bone plate, overnight stays at a hospital and months of therapy.
We wanted to give this young dog the best chance to heal and live her best life in a forever home. So, we asked you all to step up and as always you did. Now Sparkles is in her new home and on the way to becoming a healthy beautiful pup.

Valerie wants you to know that it was “Happy Gotcha Day” in January for Missy E! “I can’t believe it’s already been a year. You made a very crazy year so much easier to navigate through. I’m so happy you picked us.”
Tammy wants you to know “1 year ago we thought about getting another kitty and we went to APR and met “Kermit.” The little guy was not medically cleared to come home with us until 6 weeks later, but he was worth the wait. He is now known as Rocky and he’s the sweetest and funniest cat and the best addition to our home.”
Janet says, “the couch isn’t enough. His Highness requires a couch with a pillow topper.” Huck (fka Sandy)
Elizabeth wants you to know that Luke and Nicola love to get their picture taken together.
Kelly Ann, Rob and Eve told us “Marley girl had her spa day today. We LOVE our chunky monkey.”
