To celebrate the kick- off of the 2024-2025 WINTER SEASON Fort Lauderdale’s No-Kill Animal Shelter is inviting the community to a special YAPPY HOUR at Dune by Laurent Turondel at the Auberge Resort & Spa on Ft. Lauderdale Beach.
Hundreds are expected to turn out to support the shelter and its on-going efforts to provide permanent homes for abused and neglected animals on Wednesday November 13th from 4PM to 6PM on Dune’s oceanfront patio.
A key fundraising element for this event is the Spaybreeze, a signature cocktail, created for this event with the Vodka by Tito’s Handmade Vodka, the drink donated by Dune and the purchase price donated by our guests to the animal shelter.
“We are so grateful for the support of Dune, Tito’s Handmade Vodka, 102.7FM – The Beach and the community,” said Ilene Ross, APR Board Member and Auberge resident.
The event will also feature a limited number of unique Silent Auction items donated by community supporters who believe in the APR mission.
Abandoned Pet Rescue (APR) is a 501(C)(3) IRS tax-exempt, qualified not-for-profit charitable organization that rescues and shelters abandoned, abused, and neglected dogs and cats with the goal of rehabilitating and finding them new homes. APR is one of the largest no-kill animal shelters in South Florida. In the past decade, APR has provided quality care for more than 10,000 cats and dogs that have come through the shelter, pets in forever-foster homes and community cats that have been trapped-neutered-released.
Today, in its 28th year, the shelter houses up to 150 cats and 35 dogs at all times. An additional 90 pets are in forever foster homes, and continue to receive medical care and pet supplies from APR. When kennel space is available, APR transports dogs from public shelters that are overwhelmed with abandoned animals that would otherwise be euthanized. And as of the end of 2023 APR has successfully placed more than 10,000 dogs and cats in forever homes.
With the help of its dedicated and compassionate team of staff and volunteers, APR strives to maintain the highest standards in order to fulfill its mission of providing the best care and outcomes for the animals that come to the shelter. “Our donors and community can have confidence in knowing that their support for APR is used to save and improve the lives of animals and enhance the well-being of our community,” said APR Board Member SueAnn Hansen. The need for funding is always growing; please donate, volunteer, and adopt today.
